I love coming to work and knowing my efforts are recognized and I am always treated with upmost respect by my peers…as I truly respect them for the great job they do as well!!!
Pediatric home health is a whole new world just in itself!!! Private duty nursing isn’t like anything you have ever experienced!!! “Your” baby and their family becomes like another branch in your family tree!!! Not to say that professionalism goes out the window…because it doesn’t…but it’s amazing to go to work everyday knowing that your an important part of someone’s (a little someone’s) life!!! Their family love and adore you because you take such great care of their baby!!!
Skilled visits are also just as rewarding!!! Whether you go to their house once a day or once a week…whether your going out to heal a wound or give an injection…the relationship between you, the child and the family is an incredible feeling!!! The child may initially cry out I being scared…but over time…they realize that their “hero” isn’t there to hurt them but to help and each visit gets easier and easier!!!
And working as a part of AOC team you get a chance to enjoy your job…you don’t have money hungry CEOs breathing down your neck to get so many visits done in so many minutes or hours…you get patient, loving, heart warming smiles ready to make your working experience the best it can be so you can concentrate on EXCELLENT patient care!!! I’m proud to be an AOC nurse!!!!
