What is a PPEC?

PPECs allow children to have fun with peers during the day, then return home to spend time with their families.

A Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center is an innovative option for children with medical complexity and medically fragile children. PPECs allow them to receive the quality medical care they require while engaging with their peers in the least restrictive setting possible. They are also an alternative to long-term hospital stays and can be an alternative or in addition to home healthcare.
