He was just nine years old — a fun-loving, football-playing boy — when his family’s life took an unexpected turn. What began as a small limp and swollen ankle was first thought to be a simple sprain. But when it didn’t heal, his mom’s intuition told her something more was going on. She kept pushing for answers, determined to find out what was wrong.

After an MRI, the doctor called with news that changed everything — there was a tumor in his heel bone. Soon after, he was diagnosed with Ewing-like Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. Along with this diagnosis, he was also managing a heart condition, having been born with three heart valves instead of four.

The year that followed was filled with treatments, hospital stays, and countless moments of courage. Even on his toughest days, he faced every challenge with an inspiring smile and unwavering faith.

When doctors discovered that the cancer wasn’t responding to chemotherapy, his family made the difficult decision to move forward with a below-the-knee amputation to stop the cancer from spreading. Through it all, he showed a strength far beyond his years.

Remarkably, less than 24 hours after surgery, he was back in church with his family — a reflection of his hope and determination. In the months that followed, he was fitted with a prosthetic leg and began a new chapter of life, one filled with resilience and gratitude.

This holiday season, Angels of Care is partnering with The Ferrari Kid, a non-profit organization that gives children battling cancer and other chronic illnesses a celebrity-like experience for a day, to bring extra joy and support to him and his family.
