Advocacy in Action: Angels of Care Leads the Way for Medically Complex Children

At Angels of Care, advocacy is not just a HALOS value. It is a responsibility we live out every day for the children, families, and clinicians who depend on pediatric home health care.

Over the past few months, our Government Affairs team has been active at the state and national levels, representing Angels of Care at key Medicaid and health policy conferences, engaging directly with managed care organizations and state agencies, and sponsoring conversations focused on improving access to care. From Washington, DC to Texas, Florida, and New Mexico, our team has been in the rooms where decisions are made.

Advocacy also means speaking up when it matters most. Our team provided testimony opposing proposed rate reductions that could jeopardize access to essential medical equipment for medically complex children. We continue to participate in ongoing policy and legislative discussions with home care associations across the country as we prepare to expand services into new states.

This work is about more than meetings and memberships. It is about protecting access to care, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring the voices of children and families are heard, today and for the long term.
